CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: UNTGNC IS HIRING

Tranz Network Uganda is looking for suitable candidates to fill up the following positions.

1- Programs and Advocacy Officer

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and a Minimum of 3 years experience working in an NGO setting.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Design, plan and implement advocacy strategy.
  • Organize seminars, workshops and other similar events. Take care of correspondences with invitees, press personnel, key note and other speakers at such events.
  • Ensure that minutes and reports of such proceedings are taken and shared with the relevant parties.
  • Write and send out press releases for events.
  • Lead the process of organizing press conferences the network intends to host.
  • Write budgets and take care of logistics involved in your work.
  • Actively represent the organization at foras in the movement and outside, taking into consideration the confidentiality related to your work.
  • Conduct awareness raising campaigns, workshops and other events for the network’s target groups.
  • Use the data and reports from the research and documentation team to identify key policy areas, persons etc. for lobbying. In consultation with your supervisor, lobby such areas and/or persons for policy change.
  • Keep the membership in the know of network’s progress/work.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you by your supervisor from time to time

2- MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and a Minimum of 3 years experience working in an NGO setting.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Develop key promotional messages and materials for the network in consultation with relevant project teams.
  • Lead the process of evaluating the efficiency and quality of communication message and materials developed for the network.
  • Assist to ensure compliance of network activities with project communication policy/ strategy.
  • Assist in coordinating communications related activities and events of the network and partners as and when required.
  • Undertake sporadic field visits to monitor programme implementation and liaise closely with network’s target groups.
  • Participate in donor meetings and visits for showcasing project progress and achievements.
  • Take lead in dissemination of communication materials for events and activities etc., to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in advocacy work especially in conducting awareness raising campaigns, workshops and other events for target groups.
  • Maintain documentation management system including mailing lists, MIS, etc., on hard copy and network’s online space(s) as applicable.
  • The communications officer may be required to perform other duties than the ones stipulated in his/her job description as and when need arises.
