Earlier this year MARPS Network Limited (MNL) announced job vacancies and invited qualified individuals to apply for the relevant positions at their Secretariat. They have now released a list announcing the successful candidates who have taken up the secretariat positions with immediate effect.

A solid majority of Australians voted in favor of same-sex marriage in a historic survey that, while not binding, paves the way for Parliament to legally recognize the unions of gay and lesbian couples.
Of 12.7 million Australians who took part in the government survey, 61.6 percent voted yes and 38.4 percent voted no, officials announced on Wednesday morning. Participation was high, with 79.5 percent of voting-age Australians sending back their postal ballots.
The Lusaka High Court has granted a Lusaka resident an order compelling the Registrar General of Births and Deaths to change her birth records from female to male after medical tests proved she was in fact male. This case marks a turning point in the history of the country with regards to sexual and gender identity – a subject that has long been considered taboo in Zambia.
On the bright side, this incident exposed so many injustices in the Tanzanian system. The world is now aware of the excesses of the abuse of power by the Tanzanian government. People are also aware of the impunity that goes on in that country and we are happy that now the voices of the social movement in Tanzania can be assisted.

Chaplain Iraguha Dennis, has stood the test of time; he has been there from the earliest years of the movement. He now mainly focuses on spiritual nourishment of his peers within the Ugandan LGBT community and preaches the gospel of inclusiveness to other religious heads. On 2nd November 2017, Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum (HRAPF) held a one day legal strategy meeting to lay foundation on how best to challenge the subsections of Sections 167 (Idle and Disorderly) and 168 (Rogues and Vagabonds) of the Penal Code Act that promote discrimination of minorities.
The 2017 theme is liberation of transgender people in relationship to their social and economic status. To further push their advocacy work, Rainbow Mirrors will have several civil society organisations on board. These will have booths where they will showcase their work and products.
