Investing Globally in Water, Education & Healthcare

The AJA Foundation invests globally in organisations working across three core pillars: Water, Education, and Healthcare. They prioritise sustainable impact and fund projects that create lasting change in underserved communities. Unlike many funders, the AJA Foundation accepts Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) on a rolling basis — no deadline pressure!

Application Deadline: Rolling basis — no fixed deadline (LOIs accepted daily)

Grant Size: Varies by project (see funding history for examples)

Geographic Focus: Global (with particular interest in rural Africa for water projects)

Review Timeline: Response to LOI within ~6 weeks; full proposal review up to 6 months

Full Proposal Window: 60 days to complete once invited

Three Funding Pillars:

  • Water: Sustainable water initiatives, particularly in rural Africa
  • Education: Helping disadvantaged students overcome financial or academic barriers
  • Healthcare: Delivering fundamental healthcare to underserved populations, particularly in developing countries

How to Apply:

  • Step 1: Submit a short Letter of Inquiry (LOI) via the online form demonstrating alignment with one of the three pillars
  • Step 2: If there is synergy with the foundation’s mission and budget, you will be invited to submit a full proposal
  • Step 3: Complete the full online proposal within 60 days of invitation
  • Note: Only one application per organisation per year is considered. If declined, organisations may reapply 12 months after the declination date

Must Be a 501(c)(3): The LOI form asks whether your organisation is a 501(c)(3). Non-US organisations may still apply — use the message field to describe your legal registration status.
