The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a San Franscico based leading edge order of queer nuns have donated a sum of 850 USD to Kuchu Times. The said monies were given as a grant to be used for site maintenance and upgrade.
Kuchu Times, which is solely dedicated to providing a voice and safe space for LGBT Ugandans and Africans as whole, to tell their own stories and share their lived realities, has been looking to upgrade the site to a better and more user friendly format. The donation from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence therefore makes this dream a reality.
Kuchu Times extends their heartfelt gratitude to the organization for supporting our work as well as believing in our dream to transform attitudes by telling one story at a time. We look forward to unveiling a better and improved site that will be more engaging, more user friendly as well as entertaining and informative.
“We are thrilled to have received this grant from Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. It comes at a time when we desperately needed to bring forth more stories on an engaging site. When people believe in your struggle, you realize that you are making the difference you set out to make. From the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you for believing in what we do,” Joshua the Programs Director at Kuchu Times said on receiving the news of the grant.
About Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a leading edge Order of queer nuns. Since their first appearance in San Franscico on Easter Sunday, 1979, the Sisters have devoted ourselves to community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment. They believe all people have a right to express their unique joy and beauty and use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit.
