TRANS EQUALITY UGANDA CALLS FOR INCLUSIVENESS AHEAD OF #IWD2021

Trans Equality Uganda, this morning, hosted a conference ahead of the International Women’s Day on Monday. The vent which was a celebration of all women in the diversity was themed “Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a Covid-19 World”

The attendees also engaged in a panel discussion on the gaps within the national response to the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects.

TEU also released a press statement highlighting the need for trans women, LBQ women and female sex workers’ right to decision-making in all areas of life, equal pay, equal sharing of unpaid care and domestic work, and end all forms of violence against women in all their diversities and health-care services specially SRHR services that respond to their unique needs.

The press release further beckons all stakeholders to be mindful of inclusiveness in their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic recovery plan so that no one left behind.
