Former openly homophobic minister Simon Lokodo has finally been laid off in the new Uganda cabinet reshuffle that has been announced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
He has been replaced by Akello Rose a politician and social worker representing Karenga District as the district woman member of parliament in the eleventh parliament of Uganda.
Lokodo has been notorious for leading a “morality crusade” against LGBTIQ people by using his position to shut down several LGBTIQ events and for supporting the re-introduction of the Anti-Homosexuality Act in parliament in 2019.
Openly homophobic Minister David Bahati is now minister for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives. He is prominent for introduction of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill under the influence of American Evangelist Scott Lively.
