The First Lady of Namibia, Mrs Monica Geingos has spoken up in show of support for the LGBTIQ community in her country amidst increased calls for the country to repeal laws that decriminalize homosexuality.
Mr Bernard Haufiku the Minister of Health and Social Services in Namibia recently called on his government to ensure that all prisons were well stocked with condoms. This development is in an effort to reduce the HIV/AIDS infection in the country irrespective of people’s sexual categories.

WINDHOEK – Namibian immigration authorities are facing one of their sternest tests yet, after a group of Sweden-based Namibian transmen applied for a change in their gender statuses from female to male on their identity documents.
One of the transmen, Safira Eiseb, plans to bring ‘his’ Swedish wife and their twin kids to Namibia towards the end of this year but it is feared his current national identity documents – and his own views on them – could present problems for his entry into the country.
