A few days after High Court instructed the NGO Coordination board to register the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission, founder member Ms. Njeri Gateru and the organization are already being subjected to bullying from some Members of Parliament as well as fellow citizens.

African film project None On Record is this year joining the IDAHOT celebrations by collecting video messages from lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) persons and allies across the African continent as well as those in Diaspora.

In news that was broken through Facebook by Eric Gitari, Executive Director National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (LGLHRC), Kenya has made yet another groundbreaking step towards the recognition of LGBTI organisations in the country.

In 2012, the Gay and Lesbian Coalition of K
enya (GALCK) experienced its most challenging period
characterised by rapid and extensive structural and programmatic changes, allegations of
malpractice, the discovery of fraudulent financial processes and a palpable disconnection from the
community it cl
aimed to serve. In January 2013, member representatives came together and
unanimously decided to revive the Coalition themselves. This decision gave birth to the GALCK
Reloaded Taskforce (GRT) mandated with not only restoring GALCK at the heart of the LGBQ
movement in Kenya but taking it to the next level.
